Job Description Summary

Lead the costing process for Aeroderivative gas turbine power plant proposals, projects, and initiatives. Identify and implement cost improvements and lessons learned on proposals and projects. Lead digital and process improvements driving a seamless process from pre-ITO, ITO (Inquiry to Order), and handover to OTR (Order to Requisition). Possesses technical expertise in cost management, process improvement as well as technical disciplines related to the Aeroderivative power plants and product lines.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Aero Tendering Cost Manager, you will be:

  • Develop cost estimates for construction scope for fixed price bids and GE internal costs using estimating software and MS Office products.
  • Additional assignments working as a member of the proposal team on assigned cost proposals taking the lead to solicit cost inputs, prepare, and integrate cost details, analyze competitiveness, and issue concise cost summaries.
  • Identify, track, and implement cost out opportunities for non-equipment scope.
  • Organize, expedite, and communicate cost targets and progress across the project team and broader organization.
  • Primary cost focus on calculating estimate at completions for construction, construction site staffing, technical advisory services, and project management during execution.
  • Incorporate lessons learned into proposal costing and project estimates at completion.
  • Lead cost process continuous improvement initiatives using digital and lean methodologies.
  • Monitor costs during execution on awarded Aeroderivative projects to provide accurate estimate at completion versus budget.
  • Drive improvement actions cross-functionally including margin enhancement and digital tools.
  • Create documents required for cost estimate review by management team.
  • Attend and actively participate in proposal kick-off, risk, progress, and other essential GE meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, construction technology or other relevant technical discipline from an accredited university or college (or equivalent knowledge/experience).
  • Experience requirement: significant power plant cost estimating, project management, engineering, or costing related experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical expertise with Aeroderivative gas turbine power plant systems, including "balance-of-plant (BOP)" equipment, plant design and costing.
  • Experience using Cost Estimating software packages.
  • Successful track record and passion for process improvements and digital tools development.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $123,900-$165,200. USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a 15% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 12/10/2023.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
