Overview

As a Compliance Officer on our Bank Holding Company Compliance team, you will support US bank regulatory compliance programs such as Deposits, Activities and Investment Restrictions, Regulatory Obligations, and others. You will assist in the development and enhancement of Compliance issued policies, liaise with stakeholders across 1st and 2nd Line of Defense functions to implement policy requirements, and provide subject matter expertise regarding US banking rules and supervisory expectations. Your role will also include managing cross-divisional regulatory remediation and enhancement programs. There will be shared responsibilities and resiliency/backup with other staff of the Bank Holding Company Compliance team.

What You'll Do

  • Review and make updates to, and draft, Compliance-issued policies, and procedures
  • Engage with business and infrastructure staff to assist with the evaluation, documentation, and improvement of end-to-end control processes for regulatory compliance
  • Prepare agenda and meeting materials for monthly Deposits Program Oversight Council; take and draft minutes; assist with the development and delivery of reporting for committees, Boards, and regulators
  • Engage with business and infrastructure staff to evaluate, document, and improve end-to-end control processes for regulatory compliance
  • Perform monitoring for various compliance programs and quality assurance reviews of compliance risk assessments, as needed
  • Support the development of related online and instructor-led trainings, as needed

Skills You'll Need

  • University degree or equivalent required
  • Relevant years compliance experience, preferably at a major national bank or banking regulator OR Moderate years of business experience in the same or similar industry; Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) experience is not as relevant as experience with banking rules for deposits, lending, affiliate transactions, etc
  • Proficiency with data analysis / Excel and presentation / PowerPoint, and aptitude for learning a variety of systems
  • Experience and/or understanding of large organizations and working across multiple locations; ability to reach out to other groups to build or enhance a US region compliance program at a large multi-national bank
  • Ability to develop strong understanding of regulations governing financial institutions, specifically rules related to deposits, but also including other rules and regulations of the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), CFPB, Outbound Control Centers (OCC) and in some cases, state level regulators

  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Excellent communication ability, both oral and written, with a particular focus on development and review of procedures; understanding of the need to escalate on high risk or urgent items
  • Highly flexible, multi-task oriented and capable of changing directions based on regulatory demands with a risk-based perspective and approach
  • Capable of meeting demanding deadlines without compromise to quality/accuracy
  • Ability to exercise good judgment while balancing risk management and managing both long term deliverables and short-term demands is a key attribute for this position

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $54,000 to $77,400. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
