What you will be doing

Job Purpose

As the Program director for Cross-Functional Commercialisation Programmes management at Cencora, the role is pivotal in orchestrating collaboration among various business units, such as Market Access, Quality, Operations, Logistics, Legal, Patient Services, Sales & Marketing and more. The requested expertise in LEAN Six Sigma methodologies will drive streamlined operations, breaking down barriers, and optimizing efficiency. The role will also work directly with Pharma customer to ensure a state-of-the-art launch of their medicine in Europe. This position will be responsible for programme management for all stages of work that take a medicine from approval to market launch and distribution by leading cross-functional workflows internally.



By creating and executing strategic plans, the role will uncover process inefficiencies and lead improvements to enhance overall performance. Guiding cross-functional teams, the role will ensure alignment with business goals, regulatory standards and quality requirements. Your contributions will shape cohesive operations, fostering innovation and success within the pharmaceutical industry.

Job Context

As the specialty market evolves and is focused on global vs. regional launches, there is a need for smaller to mid-size pharma companies to launch in a more integrated manner across multiple countries or regions. An integrated solution in EU markets is very attractive for EU-based biotechs and they are looking for a service provider who can offer multiple services. In addition, companies are outsourcing more and looking for an extension of their inhouse footprint and outsourcing in a more integrated way because they believe that integration is speeding their launch to market. Cencora is looking to build our business with small to medium companies in Europe and the goal is to create an integrated model to meet these needs. The Innovations to Market strategy is focused on growing this segment of the business within Cencora's International Business Group.

The intent of the role is to support a coordinated Enterprise launch and to ensure all deliverables are met. The role will have to create the appropriate processes in order to enhance efficiency, delivery time and service level. This will need to be done without damaging the current processes for existing services to ensure that our strong service level is not challenged.

In parallel, the role will deliver via Initiation, Planning, execution, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing processes. The role requires project management capabilities, Strategic thinking and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders (including working with customer directly) and senior leaders.

The role will need to have the right balance between technicality to build processes, change management skills and being politically savvy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior leadership to understand business objectives, define integration goals, and develop a comprehensive roadmap to align various BUs' processes.
  • Develop, in partnership with vendor partners, an implementation plan for the successful launch of new products.
  • Lead through influence and strong project management skills to ensure vendor partners and internal teams adhere to project deadlines.
  • Work to project manage and support SMID Pharma customers launches in Europe
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, ensuring that projects are executed on time, within scope, and in alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success and impact of integrated processes, regularly providing reports and updates to senior management.

What your background should look like

Candidate Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Management, or a related field;
  • Certified LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt with a minimum of 10 years of practical experience in process improvement and cross-functional integration.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing complex cross-functional projects within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated success in launching new products into Europe from a pharma perspective and with a consultant/supplier profile
  • In-depth understanding of the European pharmaceutical landscape, including market access, quality assurance, pharmacovigilance, legal compliance, distribution, 3PL, patient services, and sales & marketing.
  • Well organized with demonstrated success in planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software as well as solid computer skills.

Specific Skills

  • Fluency in English is key and one other European Language is a strong plus.

Experience

  • Normally requires minimum of fifteen (15) years related and progressively responsible experience within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

Travel

  • It is estimated that the role requires approximately 25 % of European travel
