Overview

The Fixed Income Junior Portfolio Manager represents a client facing role within the Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) Fixed Income Team. In this role, you should have/develop a strong understanding of all segments of the Fixed Income and Cash markets: U.S. Treasury, Government Agencies, Corporate, Municipal and Money Market securities. You will be responsible for providing support to the Portfolio Management team in servicing and managing client portfolios. As a member of the investment team, you are responsible for supporting the Portfolio Managers and the broader Fixed Income team, in the prospecting, implementation and on-going monitoring of client's portfolios. As a team player, you should have a strong desire for the breadth of the role and contribution; ability to perform duties ranging from day-to-day administration to high level portfolio management and needs to work independently with minimal guidance as well as part of a team.

What You'll Do
  • Assist the Portfolio Management team in managing and servicing the Fixed Income DPM clients. Develop and maintain client relationships and responsible for growth of assets of existing clients and cultivating new relationships for DPM, assist and contribute to the Fixed Income team in coordinating overall investment strategy and portfolio construction in line with the overall strategic asset allocation. Accurately assess clients' investment needs, objectives, constraints, as well as to define and implement customized investment strategies accordingly. Communicate with clients on a regular basis to ensure their needs are met. Working with banking teams and investment managers, schedule and conduct regular client meetings as necessary. Diligent in keeping controllable expenses such as overdrafts, errors and claims to a minimum
  • Contribution to and support of the investment process. Support and contribute to all DPM/International Private Bank strategic goals and initiatives. Understand and contribute to the completion of operational fundamentals necessary to effectively and efficiency manage the Fixed Income DPM process
  • Serve on the Trust Investment Committee (TIC) and Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) committees. Responsible for TIC and IAC documentation (Compliance reporting)
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the entire DPM platform. Develop daily internal and active working relationships with Bankers and Investment Managers
  • Remain abreast of the Global Investment Committee views as well as the asset allocations determined by the Americas Regional Investment Committee. Remain up-to-date with economic and market events
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings. Assist in the preparation (and presentation) of pitchbooks, client presentations and prospective client reviews. Ability to handle ad-hoc reporting and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and various in-house reporting systems. Ability to handle performance and attribution analysis. Team player with the desire for breadth of the role and contribution; able to perform duties ranging from the day-to-day administration to high level portfolio management

Skills You'll Need
  • Undergraduate degree in a finance-related field
  • Extensive experience in portfolio management, and/or financial product related job(s)
  • Comprehensive investment knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining client relationships
  • Excellent communication, service, selling and interpersonal skills

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $90,000 to $140,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
