What you will be doing

Are you a talented and driven college student seeking an internship with a global Fortune 11 healthcare company? At Cencora, we are looking for individuals with an inclusive mindset and a passion for making a difference in human and animal health.

Our 10-week paid internship program has been developed to provide students with hands-on experience to learn more about the Healthcare industry and the impact to human and animal health. This internship program will provide you with professional development, networking and volunteer opportunities. You will learn about the Guiding Principles of our culture but most importantly, have the opportunity to become a key contributor in the future talent pipeline of Cencora.

End Date: August 9. 2024

Location: Remote (US)

As an intern at Cencora, you will assist with various function-specific assignments under the guidance of our designated manager. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to established projects and initiatives while gaining valuable skills that will prepare you for future career opportunities within our organization.

The Innovative Field Solutions (IFS) business focuses primarily on biopharma and device companies. The IFS Operations Intern's primary duties and responsibilities will be supporting Innovative Field Solutions (IFS) and emphasizing strategies to enhance and expand the business.

Reporting to an IFS Senior Director, the IFS Operations Intern will gain experience and create impact through process improvement, internal operations consistency and efficiency, market research, build company backgrounders, and conduct other needs to support business growth and operations excellence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside IFS leaders to understand current needs and identify gaps.
  • Understand trends within healthcare environment that may impact IFS business.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing operations process improvements focused on creating efficiencies and consistency in delivery of service.
  • Assist in developing client strategic account plans including quarterly business reviews, and other business needs such as pitches and presentations.
  • Assist in preparing a dynamic capabilities deck, complete product, and therapeutic area research, gain cross-functional insights from other business units, and address the specific customer need.
  • Identify pitch opportunities for solutions, based on new business opportunity research and learned customer needs.
  • Research industry trends and make strategic suggestions based on the research.
  • Additional research, process improvement, and operations support will be included, based on the IFS Operations Intern interest and background.

What your background should look like

Currently enrolled as a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior in an undergraduate program at a 4-year institution

Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Have U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status

Can commit to the program full-time for the 10 -week duration

  • Relevant completed coursework including marketing, public health, public relations, communications, business, or clinical studies (pharmacy, pre-medical nursing, or other science-oriented degrees) or healthcare administration.
  • General understanding and continued interest in relevant coursework as defined in experience.
  • Ability and interest in idea generation through research and stakeholder communication, bringing new strategies or ideas to the team.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:

  • Demonstrates the highest commitment to integrity.
  • Foundational analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Foundational project management skills, strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and time-management skills.

This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
