Position Details:

The Information Security team protects all of Grainger, from our systems to our data across the global company. Grainger is creating new experiences for our customers through products and supply chain network. Products such as Keepstock empower our customers to manage their inventory and have what they need immediately available. Our infrastructure provides the global backbone which supports our customers and company.

The mission of the Security Architecture team is to assess risks and create the designs to secure products and the global infrastructure. As the security architect, you will develop secure patterns aligned to the goals of our product and infrastructure strategies.

Your scope of influence includes partners across infrastructure and information security. You will influence through leading deep technical architecture discussions with infrastructure architects, senior engineers, and other security professionals.

You will report to the Sr. Director of Information Security Architecture and may be based remotely or at our offices in the Chicago area.

Pay:

This position is salaried and will pay between $115260.00 - $176970.00 with a target bonus of 15%

The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to: a candidate's experience, qualifications, geographical area, and internal equity of the team.

You Will:

  • Plan, research, and develop security architecture for infrastructure and collaboration tools
  • Define roadmaps to support security and company technology goals
  • Create conceptual and logical architecture designs
  • Work with teams to define requirements, evaluate architecture, analyze trade-offs, and recommend solutions
  • Assess risks through penetration testing, threat modeling, and white-boarding exercises with teams
  • Evaluate products and tools through PoV exercises
  • Advise product teams on the security implications of their roadmaps

You Have:

  • 5+ years of architecture experience
  • 3+ years of information security experience
  • College degree or equivalent industry experience in a technical field
  • CISSP of other security or vendor product certifications
  • Knowledge of cloud security such as AWS, Azure, and M365
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and industry standards
  • Awareness of modern software lifecycle development and automated cloud infrastructure deployment
