Leidos is currently seeking a mid-career/subject matter expert and Project Manager to join our environmental consulting team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of an experienced consulting practice and apply your skills to support our consistently growing base of federal and commercial customers in the Western U.S. Our team of industry-leading NEPA planning and policy experts, biologists, cultural resources specialists, and climate scientists work on complex federal planning projects for most major federal customers nationwide.



Must possess a valid driver's license. Position also requires passing background checks, obtaining access to, and conducting work on, U.S. Government installations. Due to contract requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Your Main Objectives:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in NEPA planning and resource evaluation.
  • Manage or support projects related to environmental assessments and impact analyses, depending on experience.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and clients to ensure compliance with NEPA regulations.
  • Conduct field surveys and/or assessments of environmental resources.
  • Prepare and review NEPA documentation and reports.
  • Provide project management and technical leadership.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years' experience in environmental planning.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more resource areas and strong applied knowledge of NEPA regulations and compliance.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to lead or contribute independently to interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working multiple projects for a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

You Might Also Have:

  • Master's degree or PhD
  • Strong preference for expertise in Biological or Cultural resources, but consideration will be given to other NEPA resources.
  • Preferred experience with Department of Defense customers, especially Navy and Air Force.
  • Some commercial client experience is a plus.
  • U.S. West Coast location, either Santa Barbara, San Diego, or Seattle areas are strongly preferred, or northeastern U.S./Virginia.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $84,500.00 - $152,750.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
