The Product Director , Industrial Applications will lead the overall definition and implementation of the business growth and product execution strategy for the Advanced Nuclear business in the industrial applications of GEH products (i.e. BWRX-300) beyond traditional electricity generation globally. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining business models, managing new product introduction, and developing regional strategies for deployment globally. S/he will work across teams to drive outcomes aligned to the product strategy, be measured against the approved platform business case, and will ensure market share, revenue, and margin improvements goals are met.

There is growing interest in nuclear power supporting industrial applications as a carbon-free source of energy. "Industrial applications" includes non-pure electrical applications, such as combined heat and power (or cogeneration), district energy system (ex. district heating), seawater desalination, hydrogen production, and industrial process heat (ex. petro-chemical, pulp & paper, etc.). As a foundation, the BWRX-300 platform can provide this carbon-free power to support the industrial markets. The initial demand for this application is primarily focused on the EU market, with growing interest in other regions. The Product Director , Industrial Applications will provide the leadership and strategic direction to a cross functional team to achieve business objectives centered on profitable growth for the Advanced Nuclear product lines in the EU and lead the deployment of industrial application solutions globally.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, the Product Director, Industrial Applications responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • Drive intense market focus with respect to setting Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters; communicate and build rapport with customers and ensure that their needs are reflected in all programs and business processes. Lead the development and deployment of EU centric product strategies related to the Advanced Nuclear product lines (ex. BWRX-300).
  • Partner with the Senior Product Manager, Innovation and Technology to transition new technology into go-to-market offerings to support market expansion of the BWRX-300 market into industrial applications.
  • Evaluate/develop business partnerships with complimentary technology offerings to provide comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Own, shape, and execute the Industrial Application business plan through the development of robust strategic product roadmaps, new technology, differentiated business models, and associated world-class product offerings.
  • Champion New Product Introduction (NPI) investments that align to the strategic roadmap of the BWRX-300 Industrial Applications, and other Advanced Nuclear technologies, to ensure the successful execution of approved NPI programs.
  • Drive the multi-generational product planning (MGPP) process for the Industrial Applications.
  • Deliver competitive product offerings to accomplish business priorities.
  • Relentless pursue product cost targets by working closely with the Product Value team, Engineering, the Global Supply Chain, and Project Delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering-related or Business-related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in the power industry or industrial plant design and operation.
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience aligning customer and market requirements to product strategy and plans. Will implement a systematic approach to gathering customer VOC and implementing feedback to produce product strategies, develop value propositions and evaluate feature/function trade-offs.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.
  • Is equally comfortable driving operational execution as s/he is in developing strategy. Has owned gated review process and corresponding operating rhythms to drive rigor and focus on the most critical product management investments and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to succinctly communicate complex messages results.
  • Experience with the design/development of advanced nuclear reactors (light water-based and non light-water reactors).
  • Experience developing roadmaps and supply chain strategies for the deployment of advanced nuclear technologies.
  • Experience managing international projects and projects with international stakeholder participation.
  • Familiarity with local and international regulators (nuclear, electrical grid, etc.) rules, requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Knowledge of project execution risks and financial processes.
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills at all levels.
  • Drive to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside GEH (customers and regulatory bodies).
  • Proven self-starter with ability to break down barriers and improve cross functional collaboration.
  • Ability to travel (~25%). International travel as required.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced degree in nuclear engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Acts with humility, transparency, and focus.

The salary range for this position is $190K-$200K. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
