Job Summary
This role will be primarily responsible for developing winning Request for Proposal (RFP) responses that expertly incorporate our value propositions throughout the response. By joining our team, you will create meaningful relationships with subject matter experts, sales executives and account managers while driving the activities involved in the resolution of issues associated with the RFP process, owning them from start to finish, and working with large National Accounts.
This is a remote role. Candidates must live in one of our following five plan states, Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, and New Mexico within 250 miles from our BCBS offices.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business administration, Marketing, English, Communications, or Journalism.
- 6 years of experience in business, technical writing or editing.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communications skills.

- Proficient PC skills.
Preferred Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Responsive (formerly RFPIO) Proposal Automation software experience a plus
- Experience with AP style guide
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to change direction quickly and comfortably and handle uncertainty/make decisions when information is not available
- Experience in leading high-profile, highly complex RFPs for large, national employer groups
- Must be proficient in quickly reviewing and analyzing proposal solicitations and related documents to pull out all pertinent information and create a compelling sales story
- Demonstrated experience autonomously leading and developing highly customized proposal responses tailored to the client
- Conceptualize content, gather information/data, key messages, positioning and articulate in a single tone and consistent tense
