Research Scientist Intern - Audio Generation and Generative AI (PhD)

Our team is at the forefront of AI research spanning text, audio, and video domains, striving to construct AI-driven audio generation models that empower individuals to craft engaging language, audio, and video generative content. Our endeavor is to advance cutting-edge algorithms, with a keen focus on open research and scientific innovation, encompassing all facets of AI for language and audio processing including but not limited to sound event recognition, sound effect creation, and music production.As a Research Scientist intern, you will be instrumental in devising state of the art models and algorithms in AI Research. We are looking for a candidate with a specialization in audio generation, coupled with experience in multimodal or audiovisual modeling. The ideal candidate should boast a robust background in audio generation, multimodal modeling, and general machine learning, along with a profound passion for audio and language technologies.

• Perform research to tackle unsolved real-world problems and push the state of the art in audio generation.
• Independently design and implement algorithms, train state of the art audio generation models on large data, and evaluate their performance.

• Currently is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Artificial Intelligence, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Research experience in one or more of these areas: audio generation, sound event detection, speech synthesis, audiovisual understanding or generation, machine learning, deep learning, or related fields.
• Experience working with machine learning libraries like Pytorch, Tensorflow, etc.
• Knowledge of deep learning and neural networks.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and shell scripts.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

• Experience with developing scalable machine learning models in at least one of the following areas: audio generation, sound event detection, speech synthesis, unsupervised/semi-supervised training, on-device modeling, or relevant areas.
• Experience with developing machine learning models for both server-based and embedded solutions.
• Experience with large scale model training, implementing algorithms, and evaluating audio and language systems
• Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by publications at leading conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, ICASSP, INTERSPEECH, or similar.
• Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
• Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
