SW Technical Program Manager, AR Release

Meta Reality Labs is building software for all realities - Augmented or Virtual for billions of users across the globe.Our team is expanding and we're looking for experienced SW TPM, AR Release to help manage our software releases. As a SW TPM, Release, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing software releases for multiple AR lines of products. This TPM will scope, plan, and deliver releases for experiences and features contributing to the AR products and services. They will work with engineers and product managers, strategically managing SW feature releases from development to post launch/in-market. We are looking for TPMs with a proven track record of developing and shipping high quality products and experiences. This role will have the opportunity to work closely with world-class development teams and leaders across the organization to deliver trustworthy experiences into AR products at Meta.



SW Technical Program Manager, AR Release Responsibilities:
  • Define release strategy and build and execute release road maps for the programs you own.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases for our products. Develop release plans, schedules, processes, procedures, and documentation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Dive deep into technical systems to triage SW release risks and issues found, take necessary actions to mitigate them and stay connected to the details to help make the right release tradeoffs.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate program release progress and updates to all stakeholders
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across XFN teams (quality assurance, product management, and other stakeholders) with varied priorities on SW releases.
  • Demonstrate a strong bias for action to handle multiple release build priorities simultaneously
  • Responsible for overall coordination quality and be your programs' primary point of contact for SW releases.
  • Drive technical excellence within the team, coordinating and contributing to engineering deliverables including architectural diagrams, specifications, launch criteria, and test plans.
  • Continuously improve the release management process and tools to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Responsible for delivering results by working in an ambiguous environment
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to release management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience as a technical program manager .
  • 3+ years of software release management, systems engineering, or software engineering experience.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing software releases for complex products or platforms at significant scale.
  • Experience in leading complex execution across multiple teams in different time zones, anticipating roadblocks and creating a path forward.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with release management tools and systems.
  • Project management skills with demonstrated experience managing cross-functional programs in a matrix organization covering a range of areas.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing and managing release management process for 0 to 1 consumer device products.
  • Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system.
  • Evaluate and clearly communicate tradeoffs for technical solutions in the Ship room.
