Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Writer in Grand Rapids, MI.Summary:The Technical Writer will assist the Infrastructure and Operations teams in updating or creating process guides and knowledge documents for IT Operations.
Requirements
- The best candidate will have previous experience as technical writer in a business environment with a proven track record of reducing redundancies, eliminate unnecessary content, and understanding who their audience is
- A working knowledge of ServiceNow
- An understanding of ITIL processes
- Experience in documenting and diagramming processes
- Experience in documenting how-to technical guides (KBAs)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Planning and project management skills
- Ability to effectively partner and collaborate with others, and strong technical skills in Microsoft Office
- Relates well with all kinds of people
- Builds effective relationships
- Design and Technical Writing: Ability to write concise procedural and reference guides
- Project & Time Management: Ability to communicate effectively with peers, subject matter experts and business leaders
- Organizing: Uses resources effectively and efficiently; Able to arrange information/files in a useful manner
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with peers, subject matter experts and business leaders
- Written/Verbal Communication Skills: Can write and organize content into a concise, understandable, and logical format; Is effective at verbally presenting ideas to others
- Flexibility: Willingness to adjust schedule or priorities based on requirements of the business or new requests
- Learning on the Fly: Learns quickly when facing new problems and technology applications; Quickly grasps the essence of topic areas being discussed; Asks good questions to further clarify/identify gaps in processes; Ability to follow/keep pace in conversations pertaining to changes or questions about process
- Other desired knowledge and experience include certifications and/or specific training in Criterion-Referenced Instruction, Building Better Job Aids, adult learning methodologies, and other related topics
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
