Your Team & Role

The Global Technology Chief Operating Office organization is seeking a Vice President, Strategic Initiatives to lead the Agile Transition Office, scaling the agile methodology and overseeing strategic priorities in close coordination with partners across Global Technology and the Prudential businesses and corporate functions. The Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, will lead the enterprise agile transformation and influence to drive organizational change. The team is looking for strategic leader with a global mindset and unique combination of skills: strong business acumen with experience running transformative change programs, Agile subject matter expertise, ability to drive and own business relationships, a strategic and technical mindset as well as the ability to influence cross-functionally.



Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Oversee the Agile Transition Office and be the catalyst to drive agile adoption across the enterprise (both domestic and internationally) to enable customer centricity and speed to market.
  • Guide an effective agile transformation across lines of business by understanding the need for an agile transformation from a broader business perspective that provides for a well-integrated approach to achieving business and operational excellence.
  • Increase consistency and efficacy across Agile teams, aligning to workforce strategy and international needs.
  • Establish organizational communication and feedback channels as part of healthy organizational change management; ensure transparency, awareness, knowledge, adoption, and recognition moments are occurring.
  • Drive adoption of agile collaboration tools (e.g., Jira Align) to establish broader transparency and prioritization of work, in partnership with Agile coaching guidance.
  • Develop and grow strong relationships across Global Technology, businesses, and corporate functions to drive alignment between key stakeholders.
  • Optimize engagement through expert knowledge of agile practices.
  • As a thought leader and evangelist, drive knowledge and adoption of agile at all levels of Prudential, articulating insights, opportunities, and outcomes clearly and persuasively.
  • Model and advocate for a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with IT COO Leadership Team to drive out interconnected priorities - e.g., agile transition, management portfolio, workforce location strategy, sourcing optimization.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading enterprise agile transformations
  • Superior communication and persuasion skills; ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs to tell a compelling story, visualization and creating insights from data to deliver practical recommendations for business action.
  • Proven relationship building and collaboration skills; ability to influence and drive outcomes in large, matrixed, and complex organizations; ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders including small to large teams of technical experts.
  • Accustomed to managing multiple teams on different projects.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and resilience; strategic thinker with and ability to thrive on and drive change while navigating ambiguity.
  • Exhibits strategic thinking capabilities, problem solving skills, strong execution, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Ability to balance tactical short-term needs with strategic direction and priorities.
  • Experience working in a global organization.
  • Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes required for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Newark hybrid (may consider other locations with frequent travel to Newark)
